Gran Turismo 6 audio enhancements may not be ready in time for launch, says Yamauchi

Gran Turismo 6 was set to come with new engine audio enhancements Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi has stressed that the changes may not be ready in time for launch. They could come as a post-launch patch, he says.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Yamauchi said, "I think I mentioned this in the past, but we're really working to change the fundamental way that the engine sound works. Right now I have a feeling that it might not make it for day one for GT6.”

When quizzed if the updated audio could be patched in at a later date, he replied, "There’s a good possibility that we might do this."

He added that data will not be transferable between GT5 and GT6, and explained, "For Gran Turismo 5 to Gran Turismo 6 there’ll be no real transfer of data. The main reason for that is the GT5 save data has been cracked already, so we can’t really confirm the validity of the save data.”

However, transfer between GT6 and GT7 is on the cards.

What do you make of the above?

Gran Tursimo 6 is out December 5 in Japan, then December 6 worldwide.
