Dead Rising 3 may have up to ten endings, Overtime Mode goes beyond plot

Dead Rising 3 could have between six to ten endings, according to developer Capcom Vancouver, while Overtime Mode goes beyond the plot and reveals the truth behind everything going belly up.

Speaking with OXM, producer Mike Jones explained that while the aim is to flee Los Perdidos before the US military slams it with a nuke, it won't be a simple escape.

On the games endings, Jones stated, "I think typically we've always had about somewhere between six and 10, something like that. There's a handful of branching points that make a significant difference, and whether you're able to play beyond the normal timeline or not.

"Previous Dead Risings would always have modes like the Overtime mode, where you get to discover the truth behind everything that's been going on. So there's not just the six days, we're going beyond that if you make the right story decisions. So it's not like choose-your-own-adventure crazy infinite endings, there's a finite amount, but they all [correspond to] meaningful story decisions that you make as you play through."

I got to to play Dead Rising 3 at gamescom last month. Here's my hands-on article, and here's my bonus eyes-on article that gets utterly batshit crazy.
