Borderlands 2 level cap increasing to 72 next week, more DLC in the pipeline

Borderlands 2 players will get a level cap increase next week to 72. Come September 3 you can gain levels, and a future update will allow players to "Overpower" their level as well. Plus, in October, new Headhunting quests will start rolling out beginning with TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest.

According to an interview with Digital Trends, the upcoming DLC includes the four-player Digistruct Peak Challenge area where players will be pitted against various enemies from the game.

Enemy classes will become stronger and more random has the player gains more Overpower levels. For example: if a player enters the arena at max level they can unlock the Overpower levels starting at level one. They can even hosts games with other players and set which Overpower level to battle at, which will max out at level 80 with access to monsters and loot at said level.

Gearbox is using Overpower instead of releasing a level cap of 80 because it is running low on skill points for players and it wants to maintain the diversity of skill trees.

After the release of Digistruct Peak Challenge, October will see the release TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest which the first of three planned Headhunter packs.

Each will cost less than previous story add-ons but a price has not been confirmed yet.

Thanks, Shack.
