Amazon lets you buy Xbox 360 games now, upgrade to Xbox One for $9.99 later

If you're still unsure when to go next-gen, a new scheme from Amazon could help with the decision. If you order select Xbox 360 games from Amazon now, you can upgrade them later for the Xbox One version via a $9.99 dollar trade-in.

The promotion includes generation-straddlers such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. The promotion lasts until December 31, and can only be used once. So if you select more than one eligible game, the promotion will only apply to the lowest-priced game.

On top of this if you trade in an included title you'll receive $25 bonus credit toward an Xbox One game. That's in edition to the trade-in value of the game. So you could end up paying peanuts for a shiny new next-gen title.

Thanks, Polygon.
