Lost Planet 3 footage shows rig traversal, drilling siege

Lost Planet 3 is a prequel, so the rigs are quite different to the mechs seen in the previous two games. The comparatively primitive frames are designed for exploration and resource harvesting more than combat. Check out the lumbering machines in action in this Capcom Japan presentation, and watch our hero defend the rig from waves of enemy attacks while it toils away in platform drilling mode.

Lost Planet 3 arrives on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 27 in North America and August 29 in Europe.
