Satellite Reign hits Kickstarter goal

Syndicate spiritual successor Satellite Reign has edged past its Kickstarter goal with a few days to go.

The team asked for £350,000 and at time of writing had pulled in £367,594 from 11,920 backers.

There are only three days left to contribute, which left many eager fans ill at ease until the target was passed overnight.

Satellite Reign hails from 5 Lives Studios, a team which includes Mike Diskett, one of the original designers of Syndicate, along with veterans of many open world games.

Like the Bullfrog classic, it comesbines strategy and simulation, all in a cberpunk urban setting ruled by corporations.

Some Satellite Reign concept footage was released recently which looks perfectly lovely, showing off what Unity can do. The finished game is expected on Linux, Mac and PC at the end of 2014.
