Pokémon developer teases new “collaboration”

Pokémon developer Game Freak has opened a tease site for a mysterious new game.

According to Gematsu, the teaser site‘s text reads:

“That classic game played around the world is reborn in a surprise collaboration.”

The reference to a globally popular classic game could refer to Pokémon, and the art may suggest some sort of creature – are those ears at the top?

The word “collaboration” is interesting, too. Pokémon crossover games certainly aren’t unheard of; one that comes readily to mind is 2012’s Pokémon Conquest, a totally badass DS exclusive crossover with Nobunaga’s Ambition.

Atlus has teased the Reddit community with word that there will be a new PS3 game releasing via the PSN in tomorrow’s North American PlayStation Store update. We have no idea what it is, but the comment makes it sound Shin Megami Tensei-related. Unfortunately, there’s no joy for Europeans this week. Thanks, Destructoid.
