Valve looking to open UK office - report

Valve is looking to open a UK office according to a new report. It is suggested that the company is courting British developers at the Develop conference in Brighton, going on right now.

Develop reports that Valve is fielding for UK developers to join its Seattle HQ, as well as its Luxembourg site which opened last year.

Valve's Luxembourg office currently employees just five staff and is geared towards Steam and securing new development partners

The site claims that Valve has been discussing its plans with Develop conference attendees as a way of gauging the viability of a UK office. It adds that if Valve's Luxembourg office proves successful, it may make the transition to full development studio.

We've asked Valve for comment on the likelihood of the company opening a UK office.
