Firefall and ESL to offer cash tourneys in the US and Europe

Red 5 Studios and the Electronic Sports League have announced Go4Firefall, a tournament offering cash prizes on both sides of the pond.

Following the ESL's regular Go4 system, the weekly competitions focus on Firefall's Jetball 5 vs 5 mode, and will be free to enter. Each weekly cup offers a $1,000 or €1,000 prize, and the best eight teams from the weekly cups will get a shot at a $5,000 and €5,000 monthly cup.

Depending on how many weeks there are in a particular month, that means there's up to $10,000 in the US league and €10,000 in Europe on offer each month.

ESL TV will stream most matches via Twitch, with casting by Lauren ‘Pansy’ Scott.

Tournaments kick off on August 4. The full prize schedule follows. Get more information here, and get on board the free-to-play shooter MMO's open beta here.
