LittleBigPlanet franchises tots up 8 million UGC levels

Fans of Media Molecule's family of Sackboy-flavoured releases have produced a whopping number of custom levels - and not all of them are depictions of genitalia.

According to the PlayStation Blog today that players have produced 8 million user-generated levels.

This total is spread across LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PSP and LittleBigPlanet Vita, but doesn't seem to include LittleBigPlanet Karting.

The franchise is coming up on its fifth anniversary, having first released in October 2008.

Original developer Media Molecule has transitioned away from the franchise and onto other projects, including Tearaway and a mysterious new project which may be its experimental PlayStation 4 creative suite.

Meanwhile, the hot money is on Sumo Digital to take over.
