Darkspore support has not ended - EA

EA has confirmed that Darkspore is still being supported by Maxis.

"Maxis continues to support Darkspore and its servers," an EA representative wrote in a statement issued in response to our gentle questioning yesterday.

"We recently resolved a problem where players were having issues connecting to the game."

Addressing rumours that Maxis had withdrawn support, EA pointed out that the pertinent posts were made by a forum moderator, not employee.

"There certainly appears to be some confusion stemming from a recent forum post," the statement noted.

"The post in question came from a moderator who is not an employee of EA. That post is currently being updated to reflect accurate information. Players experiencing technical issues should contact help.ea.com for customer support."

I'd just like to highlight the fact that VG247 was not at all confused on this matter and is still very interested in the fact that users are still complaining about the 7300 series errors. As we noted yesterday, the much more widespread Error 3 was resolved within 20 days of first report.

Darkspore is still unavailable on Steam; its demo and trailer are visible in searches but since yesterday the app listing has vanished. We've asked EA about that.
