Nordic Games buys Desperados and Silver IP from troubled Atari

Publisher Nordic Games has acquired both the Desperados and Silver IP from troubled publisher ahead of Atari's property auction next month.

In a press release sent to VG247 this afternoon, Nordic Games confirmed it had acquired both IP for an undisclosed sum. The publisher is now holding an open forum with gamers to help it decide what to do with each license moving forward.

Last month we reported that Atari is seeking $22.2 million for its stable of IP at auction, to help curb its bankruptcy losses.

You may remember Desperados as the stealth-tactics games developed by Spellbound. Set in the wild west, the original game 'Wanted Dead or Alive' dropped in 2001, while the sequel 'Cooper's Revenge' hit in 2006.

Silver on the other hand was an action-RPG released in 199 for various platforms including PC, Mac and Dreamcast. It was originally developed by Infogrames and starred a warrior called David who had to rescue his wife from the villainous Silver.
