SCEE to fund Gamer Camp scholarships

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is to invest in Gamer Camp, a Masters degree run by Birmingham City University.

As part of its PlayStationFirst program, Sony will be offering scholarships to Gamer Camp's MS/MScs in Video Games Development and MSc in Video Game Enterprise and Production disciplines.

"PlayStationFirst works in partnership with select universities in the UK and Europe. Game Camp students get hands-on development experience using our PlayStation 3 development kits," said Dr Maria Stukoff, SCEE's head of academic development.

PlayStationFirst will offer four scholarships, two of which will fund the winner's course in full while the other two will fund half of the course costs. Motorstorm and DriveClub developer Evolution Studios will be awarding the scholarships.

Gamer Camp will be attending this year's Rezzed.
