World of Tanks tournament to mark Wargaming's 15th anniversary

World of Tanks developer Wargaming has announced an eSports tourney to mark its 15th anniversary.

In a press release sent to VG247 this morning, Wargaming announced that the tournament qualifiers kick off in May, and will take place across Europe, North America, Russia, South Korea, Southeast Asia, China, and Vietnam.

The finals will then take place in June, and winners from each region will bag an all-expenses-paid trip to Wargaming's HQ in Belarus.

Matches will adopt a 7v7 format, and teams coming in second and third-place will receive a significant wedge of in-game gold for their efforts.

Alexey Kuznetsov, eSports Lead at Wargaming said of the tourney, “This is a great opportunity for teams around the globe to show their peers and prove they have what it takes to really be the best at World of Tanks. We’re extremely excited to welcome the winning teams to Belarus and give them a closer look at how their favorite game is made.”

We'll have more on the tournament as it unfolds.
