Defiance patch adds elements from the TV series

Sci-fi MMO Defiance has been updated, making good on the promise of transmedia connections with the SyFy series of the same name.

Patch 1.020 for Defiance was detailed earlier this week, and is described as "the TV Tie-in patch". It went live overnight, according to a Twitter update from Trion Worlds community manager Lance James.

The update brings a new open-world mode called Sieges, and focuses on a character called Rynn, who is on the lam from other residents of the Bay area.

Join forces with Lawkeeper Jon Cooper to join the hunt, which beings with a new Episode Mission called The Vagabond. Further missions and rewards follow.

The arrival of the patch means the last set of adventures, Hellbug Season, is over, so I hope you completed all the tasks associated with it.

Defiance is available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
