Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate transfer app due March 22

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is supported by a 3DS app allowing players to transfer their progress back and forth with the Wii U version - cross-save, in other words. It was mysteriously absent on the 3DS eShop at launch, to the frothing outrage of some consumers.

"I'm looking into the exact time, but it should be up later today. Sorry for the delay (I have no idea what caused it, btw)," a Capcom representative wrote on the Capcom Unity forums on March 19 - US launch day, when the app had been expected.

Without access to the 3DS eShop on the AU news desk, we can't verify that the app has not yet arrived for US gamers, but the forum thread continues complaining and was still active in the last few hours, so it looks like it hasn't turned up.

A post on Nintendo UK suggests the app may drop on March 22, which is release day for both versions of the core game in Europe.

US players are not at all happy about the prospect of having to wait for the companion app. We haven't heard back from Capcom, but at best guess, you'll see the app in the regular weekly 3DS eShop update.

UPDATE: A Capcom Unity tweet promises the app should arrive on March 22, along with a data packet transfer tool allowing you to play online using your 3DS.
