Ex-Firemint devs form Loveshack Entertainment

Three former members of Real racing developer Firemint have launched a new indie studio, and announced its first project, Framed.

Loveshack Entertainment was founded by Joshua Boggs, Adrian Moore and Ollie Browne. Boggs and Moore led development role Spy Mouse, but the three have a broad range of development credits including Lionhead's The Movies; Bullfrog's Populous, Theme Hospital and Syndicate Wars; Rolling with Katamari and Real Racing 2 and 3.

The team's first game is called Framed. Details are slim, but it's described as a "narrative-based puzzle game in which players must rewrite the story, a twist on a hard-boiled procedural" set in a "noir comic book world". Presented as a storyboard, it takes players with rearranging panels to change the outcome of the story.

It's been in pre-production for six months; is due on PC and tablets later this year; and has been funded by Screen Australia and Film Victoria.

Framed will be shown at GDC this year so expect more coverage over the next few weeks. In the meantime, the proof-of-concept trailer below should give you a feel. It's not actual gameplay, though; there are a few screens down there as well.

Firemint, the founding trio's most recent employer, recently merged with Iron Monkeys to form one of Australia's largest development teams, the EA-owned Firemonkeys.
