PS4: Suda "horny" for new console, future challenges

Grasshopper Manufacture boss Goichi Suda has kindly provided a perfect headline quote expressing his enthusiasm for Sony's new console.

According to Edge's translation of Suda's regular Famitsu column, the Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned designer is very excited about the PlayStation 4. Suda said that cloud delivery and social services will mean that in the future, gamers can use a single log in on a wide variety of devices, accessing their games anywhere.

"Thinking about the future of this stuff and then constructing and outputting something appealing is our job as game designers, and from that challenge we can take new strength. And that makes me horny," he wrote.

Suda said "another turn-on" is that Grasshopper Manufacture, its parent company GungHo, and sister Acquire will be developing games for the new console.

"I can’t go into detail at this stage, but for sure the new challenge is exciting. During PlayStation Meeting 2013, Sony showed such a strong vision," he said.

"Now we have to decide how to find our own victories within that and present games that express the Grasshopper world. And that makes me horny again."

Elsewhere in the column, Suda said he still feels the PS3 has a lot of life in it and doesn't mind the longer hardware cycle this generation supported.

Grasshopper Manufacture is currently working on Killer is Dead, a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release expected later this year. The PlayStation 4 was revealed in February and will launch over the 2013 holiday period.
