Journey "pretty much perfect", unlikely to birth a sequel

Journey executive producer Robin Hunicke has said the award-winning adventure probably won't see a follow up.

Speaking to IGN at the BAFTAs last night, where Journey took five awards, Hunicke said the team behind the game consider the game just right.

"I think we all put a lot of heart and soul into Journey, so we'd like to leave it where it is. It's pretty much perfect the way it is, we don't want to mess with that so I would imagine there would be no Journey 2," she said.

Thatgamecompany went bankrupt making the PlayStation 3 exclusive Journey despite its incubation inside Sony Santa Monica, and many of its staffers, including Hunicke herself, moved onto other projects.

The independent team has never made a sequel and debuted new kinds of game with each release. Founder and leader Jenova Chen is hoping the next project will be commercially successful, and employ touch controls.
