Receiver takes gun mechanics very, very seriously

Overgrowth developer Wolfire Games has released Receiver, a shooter it developed for the 7-day FPS challenge - and it's not for the faint-hearted.

The sci-fi affair has a number of interesting features like randomly generated levels, perma-death, tap running and an intriguing plot, but the best bit is how your gun works.

An emphasis on realism means you'll need the help menu even to learn how to load the blessed thing, and every action requires multiple key strokes.

It sounds hard as all get out but worth mastering; check out the explanatory trailer below and if you like what you see you can pick it up on Linux, Mac or PC for $5, and maybe drop it a vote on Steam Greenlight.
