Microsoft launches 'Xbox Live Prepaid PIN on Receipt' service at Dollar General stores

American retail chain Dollar General has teamed up with Microsoft to offer Xbox Live Gold memberships and Microsoft Points directly at the checkout. That means they are sent directly to your Xbox 360 account, without needing to input pre-paid cards manually. It's the first retailer to use the service. Get the details below.

Polygon reports that the service comes from a deal between prepaid transaction business InComm and American retailer Dollar General, allowing consumers to buy MS Points in $19.99, $24.99, $49.99 and $59.99 brackets directly at the checkout, as well as Xbox Live Gold memberships.

Microsoft hasn't made much noise about this one, so it's unclear that if the move is successful whether or not it will arrive on UK shores or spread across other retail chains.
