Guild Wars publisher selling shares to establish new North American subsidiary

NCsoft, the Korean publisher behind MMORPG's Lineage and Guild Wars, has announced it will sell all of its NC Interactive shares, the company's US subsidiary responsible for Lineage 2 and City of Heroes. It will be selling all of its 809 million shares on December 24.

Polygon reports the news, saying that NCsoft announced that it will be establishing a new entity in the United States that will be in charge of business there and in Europe. "As part of NCsoft's ongoing efforts to become a stronger global company, we are making adjustments to ensure that our western teams and games are more independent and more agile," a representative for the company told Polygon. "These efforts have no effect on NCsoft, ArenaNet or Carbine employees, nor will they have any effect on current titles or those in development."

The new studio is due for settlement on December 24 as well and will be capitalized at 50.5 billion wons, around US $47,005,147.
