Retro City Rampage has been a long time coming, but the enhanced European edition is finally in PSN certification now. Creator Brian Provinciano has confirmed that the game should be hitting PS3 and PS Vita promptly.

The game is already out on PC and on PSN US, and is an 8-bit throwback to classic titles such as Metal Gear, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more, all wrapped up in a top-down GTA setting.

Provinciano confirmed to Push Square that the game is now in certification with SCEE and should be launching soon. We’ll post an update once a solid release date is revealed.

The European edition features a few enhancements, such as additional tutorials, increased balancing, faster cars and on-screen pointers as you play. The US build will receive these additions in a new patch further down the line.
