It seems like bare weeks since MLB The Show 12 arrived, pleasing Sony fans with its PlayStation 3 and Vita cross-save compatibility, but here we are ready for another one.

A post on the PlayStation Blog reveals MLB The Show 13 is due on both systems on March 5, 2013. Before then, fans will have the chance to vote on which star athlete will grace the cover.

The latest annual release includes a number of new features such as an all-new Playoff Mode, which apparently has “an in-stadium atmosphere that replicates the excitement and tension of October baseball” and is an “experience is unrivalled by anything The Show has ever exhibited”. I have no idea what that means. Sports.

There’s also a new beginner mode, a streamlined Play Now mode, and expansions to existing Franchise and Road To The Show modes. Cross-save and cross-play online multiplayer will return, too.
