World of Warcraft offers presents to players for eighth birthday
World of Warcraft turns eight on November 23, but it's you who'll be getting a present.
To celebrate the anniversary, Blizzard will give a couple of special gifts to any and all players who log into the world's most enduringly popular MMORPG beteen November 18 and December 1.
You'll receive a Feat of Strength achievement and Celebration Package item. The mysterious "item" can be used to set off fireworks, which applies a cosmetic tabard to your character, plus an 8% boost to experience and reputation gain.
Also: here's a video celebrating the last eight years, which have been full of ups, downs, and sideways for the sprawling fantasy plot, including the literally world-shattering Cataclysm and the most recent expansion, Mists of Pandaria.
