Wii U’s Gamepad features built-in universal remote functionality which will allow users to operate their television set and switch between various inputs. It sounds like a nifty thing, and could help do away with the stack of controllers you have lying around on your coffee table. According to Joystiq, it’s as easy to use as the press of a button on the touchscreen, which will bring up the TV controls at anytime. Wii U’s Virutal Console store – Nintendo’s marketplace for retro titles – was announced during the company’s latest episode of Nintendo Direct yesterday.
