Battlefield 3 colour grade option axed

Battlefield 3 won't be receiving an option to fiddle with its colour settings after all.

Earlier this week DICE seemed set to introduce a console command to disable colour grading in an upcoming Battlefield 3 patch.

Staffer Michael Kalms has apologetically announced that he spoke too soon, and nothing of the sort will occur. He supplied DICE's official stance on the matter to MordorHQ:

"As a studio, it is extremely important for us at DICE to have a unique identity in our games, not only from a gameplay perspective, but visually as well. While we appreciate that some players might want a slightly different look to the game, we are proud of the visual identity of Battlefield 3 and do not wish to change it."

A recent mod which allowed users to disable colour grading is likely to score users a ban; the patched command was seen as a sort of compromise on this position, so some fans are likely to be left feeling a bit miffed.
