In an interview with Kotaku, via Polygon, del Toro said he's still actively chasing the project and is "talking to developers".

"I'm not giving up on Insane. It's truly beautiful," he said.

Asked who he's like to work with on the trilogy, del Toro said he is "a big fan" of Valve's games - so much so that he's cast Ellen McLain, voice of GLaDOS, in Pacific Rim.

Del Toro's inSANE trilogy was to be developed by Volition Inc, but in its efforts to staunch an arterial money spray, the wounded publisher politely returned all rights to the famed cinematic creator.
