Dust 514's 'five-year plan' will outlast PS3

Dust 514 developer CCP Games has detailed its five year plan for its ambitious PS3 shooter, stating that the game will outlive Sony's console.

Speaking with GI.biz, executive producer for EVE Online Jonathan Lander stated, "Our plan is that we want in another ten years to be having 'EVE is 20' and 'Dust is 10' [events].

He added, "The whole way that we're doing our development process is so that we can push out expansions on a regular basis. We're not going to ship a unit and then in six months it's off the shelves and people have stopped playing it."

Lander laid out CCP's long-term plans for the shooter, suggesting that it would last at least five years, which would see it out-living the PS3 format, which hints that it may cross over to whatever platform Sony has in mind next.

"We've got a five-year road map with a whole load of things we'd love to put into Dust," Lander continued, "We've got crazy ideas that will take us through another 20 years of development."
