Mists of Pandaria - first major content patch hitting test servers soon

Mists of Pandaria was released last week, and Blizzard hasn't just bee sitting around twiddling its thumbs. Instead it's been working on the first major patch for the game, which is slated to hit the MMO's test realms soon.

Patch 5.1 content will delve more into the War of Conquest now that the Horde and the Alliance have entered Pandaria in order to exert their influence over the "long-lost lands."

Players will be given new daily quest hubs, and faction reputation will be made available, and underground fighting rings in Stormwind and Orgrimmar will give brawlers a chance to "earn bragging rights" in solo PvE matches against creatures found in World of Warcraft.

Pet battles improvements are on the way via several UI tweaks including a new way to upgrade the rarity of pets captured, and Valor points can be spent to improve item level and quality of gear.

Wrathion will be giving players additional tasks to complete "as they continue their quest for Legendary gear."

Blizzard said all of this is "only a taste of what’s to come, and that there’s even more in store."

You can keep an eye on the changes coming through Battle.net.
