Minecraft will soon pop up in the book isle at your local store and in magazine form at newsstands, according to TechCrunch, which has word on a publishing deal between Mojang and Egmont Publishing.
The publishing firm acquired the book and magazine rights from Mojang for all territories – except the US.
“Publishing rights for this virtual building blocks game represent a huge opportunity for us,” Egmont MD David Riley said. “The deal is a great fit with Egmont and sits brilliantly amidst our growing portfolio of viral video, social media, virtual world, mobile and online gaming entertainment properties.”
What the products will entail is unknown at present, but expect to see the printed merchandise arrive sometime in 2013.
