Metal Gear Solid movie stars Solid Snake, Kojima on board in supervisory role

The Metal Gear Solid movie which is being produced by Avi Arad through Sony Pictures will star Solid Snake, and not Big Boss.

According to Hideo Kojima, speaking during his developer session at Eurogamer Expo today, he is not directing the film or writing it, but is instead on board in a supervisory role.

At one point, Arad and Kojima considered Hugh Jackman for the role, but instead decided to cast an unknown actor to play Snake.

They wanted someone who will make a name for themselves in the role instead of an actor who is already notable.

Kojima says Arad is good at finding new stars so hopefully they'll have good luck in casting.
