The Last Express iOS release date set for this week

A last minute announce has alerted us to cult favourite adventure The Last Express's iOS debut this week.

Joystiq reports The Last Express arrives on iPhone and iPad on September 27.

The Last Express comes from Jordan Mechner, the legendary creator of Prince of Persia, and is a murder mystery set on the Orient Express. It's notable for a number of reasons; it takes place in close to real-time, has a significantly branched storyline and boasts over 40 interactive NPCs. It launched in 1997 and failed to make any kind of sales impact but critics declared passionate love for it and it remains a cult favourite.

The iOS version contains all the content of the original - about 20 hours worth - and has been optimised for touch devices, but you can also grab last year's PC re-release through GOG.
