Ikaruga creator Hiroshi Iuchi has released a gameplay trailer for his four-player scrolling shooter Kokuga. It’s being developed by G.rev and it’s heading to Nintendo 3DS. Watch the madness below.

Siliconera reports that Kokuga will use a card system with offensive and defensive properties instead of traditional power ups. Players can pick 20 cards at the start of each stage to buff their mech and deploy four additional cards in the middle of battle.

No Western release date has been mentioned as yet.
