Wii U November 18 release date leak debunked

The supposed source of an alleged Wii U release date leak has denied knowing anything about the matter.

A NeoGAF user claimed peripheral maker PDP revealed the Wii U's release date as November 18 during a GameStop conference.

Speaking to Kotaku, PDP community manager Candace Hinton seemed a little baffled by the rumour.

"At this time we can't confirm Nintendo's dates and we don't know exactly what was heard, but we simply do not know that this point," she said.

"We are launching accessories, but the date for the accessories doesn't mean a confirmation on the hardware. If you seek confirmation on the date that is something that is going to need to go specifically though Nintendo, but we can't confirm or deny dates on any of their hardware."

Nintendo, unsurprisingly, still isn't moved to put a release date on the impending console based on what someone said on the Internet. The Wii U is expected before the end of the year - probably.
