Smash Bros. Wii U: New characters confirmed

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that he is currently working on moves for a batch of brand-new characters for the next instalment of the series, rather than narrow down the roster.

It has been reported before that Sakurai plans to scale back the character roster for his upcoming Wii U iteration of Smash Bros. However, Famitsu has reported that Sakurai teased development of new fighters at the Computer Entertaintment Developers Conference in Tokyo over the weekend.

In his address, Sakurai reportedly said of his new Smash Bros. game, "It's fun making new skills for new characters."

As the new Smash Bros. is being co-developed by Namco Bandai, there is a rich pool of cameo characters just waiting to be dipped into. Who would you like to see joining the fight?
