Serious Sam 3: BFE headed to Steam Ubuntu

Devolver Digital has announced it will throw its support behind Steam for Ubuntu with a Linux version of Serious Sam 3: BFE.

Croteam's light-hearted shooter is one of the first titles confirmed for the service after Valve's own Left 4 Dead 2.

“We’re in the process of integrating Steamworks and achievements and the whole shebang, but we can’t get the little f**ker of a penguin to stand still," Devolver chief financial officer Fork Parker said, according to Ausgamers.

The new version is expected in 2012 - assuming the client is up and running by then. Valve announced the new version of Steam last week, and hasn't attached any date to it.
