Fruit Ninja digital comics blossoming soon

Ape Entertainment has signed a deal with Fruit Ninja developer, Halfbrick Studios, to create a series of comics and graphic novels based on the popular fruit slicing app.

Fruit Ninja is branching out into comics created by Ape Entertainment.

“By expanding the Fruit Ninja universe with new stories, characters and adventures, Halfbrick and Ape Comics are free to explore an unlimited number of creative opportunities for comics and take the brand in even more exciting directions,” said Halfbrick CMO, Phil Larsen.

Ape Entertainment has previously produced comics based on Pocket Gods and Cut the Rope. The comics will be both print and digital-based, with the latter distributed for iOS through a standalone Fruit Ninja comics app. They are expected in the coming months, I heard through the IGN grape vine.
