US fight tournament EVO 2012 will have a pay-per-view stream for the first time this year, it’s been confirmed.

The stream is “optional,” and three video feeds will be supplied free of charge. Two will focus on gameplay and there’ll be another for panels.

A record number of attendees are expected.

“We will have over 3,500 competitors (actual human beings), which is a record for us,” EVO co-Founder and Shoryuken.com president Tom “inkblot” Cannon told GameSpot.

“I estimate another 4,000-6,000 spectators, but it’s impossible to say accurately as it’s free to attend except Sunday.”

EVO takes place July 6-8 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
