36.4 billion miles racked up in GT5’s online

36.4 billion miles have been driven online on Gran Turismo 5 since the Polyphony racer’s launch in late 2010, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted.

The average of those numbers is at least 63 million miles per day during online. The same distance has also been covered so far with this year’s GT Academy 2012. That is around 2.6 million miles per hour or near 730 miles per second.

The stat is equal to travelling from Earth to the Sun and back 200 times or a round trip from the Sun to Neptune 13 times.
