Rock Band Blitz power-up gameplay shown in new trailer

In a new trailer for Rock Band Blitz, project lead Matthew Nordhaus describes the downloadable title as "faster-paced" than Rock Band, and having "more to keep track of". This is an understatement.

You'll get a good look at the game's multi-instrument gameplay in the video below; note that it's showing a single-player experience, and you have to switch between the different tracks. The first power up discussed allows you to double up with an AI bandmate temporarily, which should make things less confusing, while the next just makes life even more frantic by adding a pinball to the mix, which you'll have to bat back and forth. Argh.

Looks good though. The downloadable is due via both major console networks in the third quarter. Check out the first 15 announced songs here.
