Square Enix registers Just Cause 4 domains

Although a third entry in Avalanche's open-world action epic series is yet to be announced, Square Enix is prepping for the franchise's future.

As Just Cause 3 is yet to be confirmed, Square Enix's multiple Just Cause 4 domain registrations, as spotted by Fusible, are likely to be defensive rather than confirmation of upcoming reveals.

That said, nothing puts a publisher in the domain mood more than upcoming news, and there is some kind of gaming event in a couple of weeks, isn't there?

Just Cause 1 and 2 developer Avalanche has promised a new game at E3 2012 - but said it's not Just Cause 3. The long-rumoured sequel may surface as one of the developer's three planned announces this year, although Avalanche has been firm in denying it.

The two existing Just Cause games received mixed critical reception, but have a cult following, specifically concentrated around my desk.
