Metal Gear Rising trailer visits Raiden's past

I'm just going to go ahead and slap a trigger warning on this latest trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which contains what seems to be a depiction of torture.

As you may recall, previous trailers in this campaign have made it pretty clear that Raiden is the one watching these scenes. You'll hear him called Jack; this is his real name, and one of the reasons why he was known as Jack the Ripper as a child soldier. Come to think of it, Raiden's backstory really is 17 kinds of messed up. At least he got a sweet cyborg body out of it, I guess.

Platinum Games' action take on the Metal Gear universe is expected to be fully revealed at Konami's E3 2012 press briefing, ahead of a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release, probably this year.
