Survey finds more than half of Americans aged 8-64 play games

A Magid Associates survey has found that more than half of those questioned in the 8-64 age range play games.

According to GI, Magid's survey, taken from a nationally representative online sample of 2,540 people, was collected from March 19 through March 26.

Console gaming is still the biggest reigning sectors in the industry, but is closely followed by mobile and social gaming in second and third places respectively. Both genres have both overpassed PC games, online portals, handheld games and MMOs in terms of popularity.

The report also claims that games have become the second biggest household expense behind the TV/internet bill.
