Soul Sacrifice is the next Keiji Inafune game

Early magazine leaks out of Japan have revealed Vita title Soul Sacrfice as the next project from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune.

Andriasang's reliable sources report the game is being developed by Marvelous AQL, in collaboration with Inafune, Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama.

The Vita exclusive is expected to release in northern winter and support up to four players.

It's not yet clear what kind of game Soul Sacrifice is, but the central conceit seems to be a magic mechanic whereby players must trade in valuables in order to use spells.

The sources mention stones and trees can by used for small spells, but for summons, the character's own body parts are required; fingers will net you a gleipnir, while eyes can bring a gorgon.

More details are expected shortly, as Famitsu is said to have a seven-page feature, and Sony will officially debut the game at the Tokyo International Forum tomorrow. Check out the teaser trailer here.
