Awesomenauts release in doubt as dtp files for insolvency

European publisher dtp Entertainment has filed for insolvency, putting launch plans for Awesomenauts in jeopardy.

IGN reports the publisher's financial woes have been confirmed by Dutch developer Romino.

"At the moment we're unsure what this means for [Awesomenauts]," Jasper Koning said.

The developer noted that it's "working hard to try and resolve the situation".

Awesomenauts was due for release via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in this week's update. The strategy-platformer hybrid drew interest over the weekend after releasing a gameplay guide showing off its Saturday morning cartoon aesthetic.

Although not as well known outside Europe, dtp is an important local distributor and has a small collection of cult favourite properties, having published the Divinity series, Jane Jensen's Grey Matter, and a couple of games based on role playing franchise The Dark Eye.
