Arrowhead has unannounced game in the works, wants "to move on" from Magicka

Arrowhead Game Studios has an unannounced game in the works, according to co-founder Emil Englund. The title is in addition to the firm's Showdown Effect which was announced and shown during GDC. According to Englund, the development of each title is "just a break from Magicka," and the firm is "really excited" about the unannounced title. The team has implemented lessons learned from Magicka's development, and doesn't plan on repeating the same mistakes this time out. "We learned so much… I think the one thing we failed at really badly was planning," said Englund to Strategy Informer. "We failed to plan or estimate how much time the development would consume. Magicka worked fine in local co-op, but when it came to online… it was just abysmal. We’re really going to have to do this the right way this time." Upon release, Showdown Effect will be available for both Mac and PC, and supports up to eight players with multiple game modes. Thanks, JamieD.
