Halo Infinity domains snapped up by Microsoft registrant

MarkMonitor, a company Microsoft regularly employs to make domain name registrations, has gone on a slightly mental shopping spree to try and secure the name Halo Infinity.

Fusible noticed the company grabbing HaloInfinity.net.

It also snaffled HaloInfinityMultiplayer.com; HaloInfinity.org; HaloInfinity.co.uk; HaloInfinity.mobi; HaloInfinity.de; HaloInfinityMultiplayer.net; HaloInfinityMultiplayer.org; HaloInfinityMultiplayer.co.uk; HaloInfinityMultiplayer.mobi; and HaloInfinityMultiplayer.de, as well as the likely related spartanops.org and Morethanjustamap.com.

The only Infinity already existant in the Halo universe is a Halo: Combat Evolved map which was exclusive to the PC version.

While the registrations may be just a defensive move, if Microsoft were to release the Infinity map for the Anniversary edition on Xbox 360, it would definitely be worth making a bit of a fuss over. Speculate at your lesiure.
