The Sims 3 Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats coming in June

The newest expansion for The Sims 3 contains an array of candy-themed items 'capture Katy Perry's spirit', because video games are beautiful madness.

The new items range from furniture through hairstyles and clothing, including several ensembles sported by pop star Perry on red carpets around the world. With these new items, players are encouraged to build "vibrant candytopias".

In addition, a number of new venues make an appearance:

  • Patty’s Natural Baths, an all-new pool venue, complete with bubble gum pink lounge chairs and a licorice-themed slippy slide.
  • Bonbon Lawn Park where players will find loads of fun-for-all-ages, candy playground equipment.
  • Cake Pleasure Dome, the town’s charming local hangout, where even more tasty sweet treats await.

The pack also includes a Simlish version of Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) which was recorded especially for the DLC.

For those of you wondering why this story is newsworthy, take a look at this delightful quote from Perry herself:

"I love some of the accessories so much that I am going to get some of them made in real life! It's one of my small life goals to sit on a banana split couch," she said.

This made my day. Simple things, people.

The Sims 3 Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats is due sometime in June, and is currently available for pre-order. Screens below.

Perry also appears in The Sims 3: Showtime.
