Sword & Sworcery, Assassin's Creed top picks for Canadian Videogame Awards

Indie effort Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP earned a whopping nine nominations for the 2012 Canadian Videogame Awards.

The indie effort's main rival is the Assassin's Creed franchise - Revelations nabbed eight nominations, and iOS offering Recollections scored one as well, for a total of nine.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine also won eight nods, as did Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The fledgling team at Eidos Montreal will be hopeful of a win, having been overlooked entirely at the Game Development Talent Awards.

The awards cover Canadian-developed games released in 2011, and of the major triple A titles which are up for consideration, BioWare's Dragon Age II got the least representation, with just one nomination.

This will be the third outing for the yearly awards show, held as part of the Fan Expo Vancouver in April.
